Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Fragrance Category Buyer to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to manage the purchasing process for Dis-Chem fragrance products while managing suppliers, trade terms conducting marketing analysis, product selection/ buying and stock management to drive turnover and maximise profits.
Minimum Requirements…

Essential:
Grade 12 / Matric

National Diploma in Buying, Finance or Retail Management

Minimum of 3 years Category Buying experience. Business Intelligence, Qlikview experience

Advantageous:
Degree in Buying, Finance or Retail Management

Job Specification…

Conduct analysis and research on product ranges and consumer buying patterns to predict future trends.

To regularly review and track sales performance figures and take appropriate action to maximise sales and minimise losses.

Ensure stock turn, sell-through and stock on hand are within the required ranges and ensure supply meets demand.

Manage the achievement of Private Label targets by creating product differentiation, innovation and brand loyalty to increase market share and profitability.

Assist in ensuring a detailed marketing plan is formulated and that it`s in line with the overall company strategy.

Ensure branches are able to increase their stock levels during an advertising campaign.

To actively keep abreast of all inventory, expenditures and deliveries of various product ranges and ensure they are in line with department budgets and objectives.

Negotiate multi-category trading terms and promotional spend according to Fragrance Category objectives and develop strategies to ensure Dis-Chem is first in the market with new product launches.

Manage the return on inventory to achieve the fragrance category operating targets by analysing sales and profitability of products

Create forecasting reports in order to present sales levels in relation to the fragrance category

Provide reports on customer feedback regarding product quality and make use of measuring tools.

Collaborate with relevant Dis-Chem stakeholders in order to ensure product quantities and displays are optimal.

Actively nurture and grow meaningful supplier relationships.
