Forest Research: Tree Breeding – Intern 2020 – Forests ( 85 and 86 for temps )
Sappi Southern Africa requires an Intern for Forest Research – Tree Breeding. This intern will have the opportunity to grow and obtain the necessary skill, competencies and experience within the related field and will be required to support the business with different tasks and responsibilities during their contract period.
This role will report into the Research Officer – Research, Planning And Nurseries
The main responsibilities of the job are:
- Assist with Research trial activities such planting, measurement.
- Assist with other breeding activities such as controlled pollinations, flowering studies

Work on the sampling, preparation and assessment of wood properties), sampling and planting and measuring
The ideal candidate must have:
- Grade 12/Matric qualification

Relevant Tree Breeding, Genetics or Botany Diploma/Degree or related qualification

No experience required

Computer skills Proficient in MS Office ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)

Drivers license
