Accountabilities

• Ensure total adherence to all QAFS, EHS, Legal & other company policies & procedures
• Maintain plant according to FSSC 22 000, AIB, CRP and HACCP standards
• Takes full accountability for customer complaints.
• Assist in maintaining the HACCP program (including implementation, documentation and staff training)
• Assist with outside contracts related to the Food Safety Program (including pest control, sanitation, laundry and outside cleaning companies)
• Implement all best practices with regards to the food safety programme.
• Conducts staff training (including, but not limited to CRP, GMP’s HACCP, chemical safety, etc.) and manages the training matrix.
• Conducts internal food safety audits/inspections.
• Ensure that plant adheres to Food Safety rules at all times resulting in a hygienically clean plant with staff adhering to all GMP’s
• Prepare cleaning schedules/boil-outs and ensure all equipment is cleaned according to schedule (supervise weekend work if necessary).
• Generate and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Administrate the non- conformance procedure, ensure tracking of all NCR’s for timeous close out.
• Tracking of customer complaints and tracking timeous close out.
• Engage the Engineering department on a weekly basis and manage the tracker.
• Manage the internal FSSC program.
• Ensure that the document traceability system is maintained and up to date.
• Ensure compliance to the micro and emp schedules.
• Ensure compliance to the allergen validation program.
• Ensure that the purchase order system is running smoothly.
• Assist in creating awareness.
• Assist the Food Safety Specialist where necessary to achieve set KPI’s

Key skills / Requirements

• Food Technology Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Computer literate
• 3 years working experience, FMCG experience would be an advantage.
• AIB and HACCP background
