Recruitment Notice
Letšeng Diamonds seeks to engage a Mosotho professional with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of:
Fleet Maintenance Leadinghand (Patterson CU x 3)
Purpose
To ensure safety compliance, equipment availability, and quality work outputs; to secure set production targets on Caterpillar equipment and drills; and to serve as a crucial link between maintenance and shift supervision.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership, including technical troubleshooting
- Oversee maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet and mining equipment
- Allocate tasks to team members according to daily and weekly plans
- Ensure preventative maintenance and backlog repairs are completed as scheduled
- Supervise troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Monitor proper installation and commissioning of components
- Prepare daily and weekly maintenance reports
Qualification and Experience Required
- Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic with accredited training in both basic and advanced aspects of HME maintenance
- Diesel trade test training from leading OEM suppliers
- Minimum of 10 years’ practical working experience as a mechanic, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role leading a workshop technical team
- Valid driving licence (at least Code C)
Required Skills and Competencies
- Ability to identify equipment faults and guide the team toward practical solutions
- Ability to assess breakdown trends and suggest corrective actions
- Knowledge to analyze breakdown patterns and recommend corrective measures
- Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, tools, and techniques used in fleet and workshop operations
