Job Summary
As a lead for the ROLL project team, you will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on all project activities and providing technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partner(s) advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your coordination and relationship management skills will ensure that the project for which you are responsible applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Literacy & Inclusion
- Design and deliver tailored financial literacy and inclusion training programs for diverse community interest groups organized into coalition groups under the ROLL Project.
- Ensure training content is culturally relevant, accessible, and aligned with the needs of target communities.
2. Capacity Building of Field Teams
- Train and mentor Field Supervisors and Field Agents on the CRS Microfinance approach, specifically the SILC methodology.
- Provide ongoing technical support to field teams to ensure quality implementation and adherence to SILC standards.
3. Sustainability & Private Service Provider (PSP) Development
- Collaborate with field teams to identify, train, and establish PSPs who will continue supporting microfinance activities beyond the project’s lifespan.
- Develop strategies to ensure PSPs are well-integrated into community structures and equipped to operate independently.
4. Tool Development & Financial Management Support
- Design and implement financial management tools aligned with the CRS SILC model to help microfinance groups manage their financial records and data.
- Train microfinance groups on the use of these tools to promote transparency and accountability.
5. Community Mobilization & Group Formation
- Lead community sensitization and mobilization efforts to establish new microfinance groups in underserved areas.
- Revitalize inactive microfinance groups through targeted engagement and capacity-building activities.
6. Project Implementation & Coordination
- Organize and lead the implementation of assigned project activities in line with CRS program quality principles, donor requirements, and good practices.
- Coordinate and oversee relationships with local stakeholders, mobilizing actors to promote project impact.
- Support learning and accountability through evaluations, reflection sessions, and documentation of promising practices.
- Conduct ad-hoc inspections and ensure proper tracking of resources and adherence to standards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to staff and partners.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in financial literacy, microfinance, or community development.
- In-depth knowledge of the CRS SILC model and experience training field teams.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing financial tools for community use.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently to field locations.

Language & Travel
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Sesotho preferred.
- Travel: Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% to field locations.
