Job Title : Financial Planner
Reports to : Head of Business Banking
Location : Maseru

DOB PURPOSE

To ensure that the Business Banking clients make informed and profitable decisions to meet their business financial goals. This role is responsible for planning of clients’ financial needs and acts as a trusted advisor in areas of Investment Planning, Risk Management, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Cash Flow Management and Debt Management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer
Executes customer segmentation to ensure effective customer service.
Identifies Investment needs and compiles Investment plans for clients and advises them accordingly.
• Executes customer retention plan.
• Builds and maintains enduring and rewarding relationships with customers.
• Educates clients regarding the parameters and routine procedures governing complex but standard business and commercial products, solutions, and service offerings.
• Undertakes customer visits, attends, and presents at forums and identifies sales leads.
• Presents and markets products offering and service to clients.
• Identifies customers’ needs and adjusts their financial plans accordingly.
• Compiles comprehensive financial plans for customers and provides guidance for their implementation.
• Advises clients on Business continuity and succession planning.
• Advises clients with Tax planning and minimization strategies.
• Advises clients with Wealth accumulation and protection.
• Advises clients with Estate planning and wealth transfer.
• Analyses cash flow and advises clients on best management of their cash flow.
• Identifies the business Risks and advises clients on how best to mitigate them.

Internal Business Processes
• Tracks sales performance, financial performance, and operational performance to ensure compliance.
• Manages annual credit reviews for portfolios timely.
• Ensures timely and accurate submission of reports.
• Finds potential markets for clients and fosters long term relationships.
• Monitors financial plans and adjusts as and when necessary.
• Manages client relationships and ensures that clients’ needs are always met.
• Stays abreast with latest regulations, practices and products and economic trends to make informed advice.
• Prepares financial and business analysis reports.
• Advises businesses with employee welfare and benefits.

Financial
• Achieves an optimal balance between the customers’ needs, growth and profitability to the bank, the risks involved, resources and capital adequacy, while improving cost effectiveness.
• Maintains healthy loan book.
• Negotiates good deals to ensure bank’s profitability with quality customers.
• Contributes to the formulation of the strategic policies for the direction and development of Lesotho Post Bank through close monitoring of competitors.
• Analyses the financial statements to identify risks and opportunities.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning and/or Postgraduate qualification in Financial Planning.
• Certified Financial Planner (CFP) will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of two (2) year’s related work experience.
• Experience in financial advisory role will be added advantage.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of relationship and portfolio management.
• Knowledge of general banking practices, processes and procedures.
• Aptitude to analyse large amounts of financial data.
• Communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Organisation and detail orientation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Consumer Banking product offerings.
• Basic knowledge of financial Institutions Act and Companies Act.
• Working knowledge of the local financial legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to make decision.
• Understanding of Credit Management.
• Numerical skills and financial acumen to interpret and evaluate financial statements, balance sheets, ratios and cashflow cycles.
