Job Description

To support both management and team, by providing accurate and timely financial analysis and information. Has direct responsibility for the financial department in term of leading and guidance to ensure that the daily operation and closing reflect the correct performance and in line with the accounting policy and standards. In addition, be responsible for on-time and accurate financial reports including effective budget preparation that can be used for guidance of the operation throughout the year.

Main Responsibilities:

Business Financial Management

  • Give and seek advice to improve financial returns.  Direct engagement with both Regional office finance, General Manager as well as support and operational departments on the provision of analytical data and accurate financial information, including recommendations for further improvement.
  • Monitor and control business performance through the comparison of actual results to budget and forecast on a continuous basis and also propose interventions in areas for improvement.
  • Analyze marketing promotions including revenue management strategies that impact   pricing, promotions and discounting.
  • Relate external economic factors to operational planning.

Management Reporting

  • Take full responsibility for timely, accurate, and appropriate management information, including preparation of a monthly management financial reports.
  • To ensure reporting procedures are clearly defined and updated to reflect the business needs currently and in the future.  To conduct regular reviews with the operational management Team.
  • Prepare weekly/ monthly/ quarterly reports and presentations.

Budgeting Process

  • Be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget as per group guidelines, including the reviewing of future business plans to develop the budget.

Financial Planning

  • To provide input and guidance for financial planning e.g., procurement and stockholding, break-even analysis, profit and loss, allocation of resources among various projects, renovations, and return on investment, etc.
  • Improve working capital, return on assets and CAPEX management.
  • Supervise day to day operations within the department and stimulate teamwork.

Risk Management

  • Reduce risk which may occur to the brand.  To ensure the operation is compliant with all relevant regulations and legislative requirements and that the financial statements reflect all related transactions in each period.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new revenue streams and the control of CAPEX for new outlet and renovation projects.

Management Information System

  • Take an active and constructive part in the selection and implementation of financial and operational systems.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance
  • Master’s degree in accounting/ Finance an added advantage
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 3 years in auditing/ assurance services
  • Minimum 5 years in management level, working experience in hotel, retail industry would be advantageous.
  • Excellence in English and computer literate
  • In-depth ability of analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong skills in driving results
  • Strong skills in people management and development
