Financial Accountant
Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Overview
Naledi Funeral Planners is seeking a meticulous and highly analytical Financial Accountant to join the Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the strategic decision‑making of the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated reports. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to IFRSs and compliance with tax regulations. - Cash Flow Management:
Project revenues and expenses to manage liquidity; oversee bank account movements and control company expenditures. - Audit and Internal Control:
Reconcile balance sheets and prepare documentation for external auditors. Examine records to ensure full compliance with internal financial controls. - Asset and Inventory Management:
Monitor the lifecycle of company assets (from acquisition to disposal), coordinate physical tagging, and lead periodic stock counts for funeral‑related inventory.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Accounting, CIMA, or General Accounting degree
- Affiliation with a recognised accounting body
- Chartered Accountant (CA) status is a distinct advantage
- At least three (3) years’ experience in financial management
- High proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Sage Intacct
- In‑depth knowledge of current accounting standards

- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines through effective time management
