Job Role
Alliance Insurance Company has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant, based at the Maseru Head Office.
Reporting to the Manager: Financial Reporting, the incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial transactions and preparing financial reports to support effective decision-making.
Key Responsibility Areas
- General Ledger management and oversight of month-end processes.
- Preparation and review of General Ledger reconciliations.
- Overseeing intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Preparation of management reports.
- Systems and processes optimization to improve efficiency.
- Coordinating internal and external audit processes.
- Coordinating organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
- IFRS reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Taxation and statutory compliance.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
- Chartered Accounting or B.Com Accounting qualification with eligibility to register with LIA within one (1) year of engagement or any relevant professional body.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Audit experience will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial ERP systems — Advanced MS Excel and Sage 300 preferred.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, management accounting, tax laws and regulations in Lesotho.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage cross-functionally and explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
