FINANCE MANAGER

Reporting to the Chief Executive, A FINANCE MANAGER shall implement an effective system of internal controls, manage finances and report accurate information in a timely manner.

The incumbent’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of timely, relevant and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management accounts which includes, but not limited to, Statement of Comprehensive income, Statement of Financial Position, Statement of cash flow and Budget Analysis reports etc.
  • Preparations to conduct annual audits of draft financial statements in line with the prevailing International Standards and other relevant promulgations and follow-up audit recommendations.  
  • Ensure keeping of proper books of accounts which includes: cash books, journals, ledger, and asset register and produce timely financial and statistical reports for Management and Board
  • To ensure that the statutory information including taxation is accurately submitted within the specified time limits to ensure that the NAC does not incur any additional penalties or audit queries.
  • Cash flow management ensuring that projections and reports are timely submitted.
  • Ensure that NAC movable and non-movable assets are accurately recorded and effectively managed.
  • Responsible for drafting of annual corporate budgets, implementation, management and reporting.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to financial or accounting systems and review and updating of policies and procedure where necessary.
  • Grants management; research funding opportunities; identify support agencies; design grant programs; develop/review grant proposals; optimise grant administration process; tracking grant applications and engagement with Donor agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with grant regulations; prepare progress reports.

Preferred Qualifications;

A Chartered Accountant PLUS MBA with three years’ work experience at a managerial Level; OR   BComm Accounting PLUS MBA with seven years’ experience at managerial level. OR Equivalent of the two options.

Membership in a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
