Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the General Manager, the Finance Manager shall build financial strategies and reports to help BSC improve its financial health and meet long term goals. Their main duties include preparing a cooperative’s activity reports, creating financial forecasts and brainstorming ways to maintain or reduce company costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the overall good maintenance of accounting records and systems.
- Oversees compliance with organizational financial policy as well as statutory financial policy as well as statutory financial requirements.
- Prepares financial reports, producing activity statements and monitor accounts.
- Providing advice on company financial and investment decisions.
- Promotes efficient management of the cooperative’s financial resources with a view to minimizing cost and maximizing profits.
- Prepares and maintains cooperatives financial forecasts (cash flow statement, annual budget performance) and maintains high budgetary discipline.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
- Prepares Management Accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintains and supervises Cooperatives monthly reconciliation of suspense and control accounts.
- Leads the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the board.
- Manages an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
- Continues identifying risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
- Carries out business modelling and risk assessments.
- Deals with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
- Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements
- Manages accounting practices across the Cooperative.
- Produces long-term business plans based on company data.
- Undertakes research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance.
- Manages budgets.
- Develops and manages financial systems/models.

- Must communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels of the Cooperative
- Fluent in both Sesotho and English
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or General Accouting
- Minimum 10 Years’ experience in banking environment, of which 5 must have been in senior management position
- Postgraduate in Accounting or Chartered Accountant will be an added advantage
- Membership of the Institute of Lesotho Institute of Accountants
