Employee Contract Type: Local – Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)

Job Description:

Monitor grant expenditures (25%)

  • Tracking system is in place to monitor the grant spending and payment lead-times. Availing all relevant information to the project staff on time and properly interpreted where need be.

Update financial systems (15%)

  • Prepare adequate and complete voucher document to be captured by grant accountant in accounting system. Where the document is incomplete, to coordinate with relevant staff to ensure that the documents are submitted.

Payroll and staff salary obligations (10%)

  • Coordinating with all Project Staff and ensuring that the timesheets are prepared and submitted on time.

Ensure financial compliance (10%)

  • Ensure appropriate basis of allocating costs for shared expenses is in place and verifiable. Review all Employee Expense Reports presented through Concur Solutions and petty cash.
  • Reconcile and track outstanding employee advances and ensure that they conform to World Vision’s timelines

Financial reporting (35%)

  • Timely preparation of tax claims, tax returns and submission on monthly basis
  • Sharing the accrual report to the project staff, and ensuring that previous month accruals are cleared in the following month by collecting all project invoices.
  • Prepare all project finance documents, submit for review to the accountant before they are send to the Support Office the documents.

Review and payment of requisitions (5%)

  • Timely review of requisition relating to the project in provision procurement system.
  • Ensuring suppliers who have rendered services and delivered goods for the grant are paid on time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Diploma in Accounting or relevant fields and have knowledge in GAAP and practical knowledge of financial system and internal financial controls and procedures (Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage).
  • No Experience required.
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Proficiency in computer basic skills- MS Office; Internet; Basic data analysis skills;
  • Self- managed, self-driven, results oriented individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, report writing and analytical skills;
  • Dedicated team player with ability and experience to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • Diploma in Accounting or relevant fields and have knowledge in GAAP and practical knowledge of financial system and internal financial controls and procedures
