Finance and Operations Manager

As part of the IEJ’s Senior Management Team, the Finance and Operations Manager is jointly responsible for the attainment of the organisation’s strategic objectives with specific accountability for financial and operational performance. The Finance and Operations Manager will contribute significantly to the organisational design, policies, procedures and organisational systems and processes as the organisation seeks to fulfil its vision.

Key responsibilities of this exciting and challenging position will include:

Operational planning and management
Management of organisational administration, finance and operations.
Manage tasks and performance of all operations, finance and administrative staff to ensure high staff performance.
Financial systems management
Preparation of annual and medium-term budgets and managing costs against budget.
Managing finances and financial systems.
Overseeing bookkeeping, tax reporting, audits and bank accounts.
Preparation of financial reports.
Grant management and fundraising
Supporting organisational fundraising, including development of budgets, proposals etc.
Management and maintenance of donor relationships and engagement.
Identify and develop strategies to optimise the grants administration process.
Production of financial reports for donors, including regular internal reconciliations.
Contracting and relationship management

HR management
Managing the implementation of human resource policies.
Together with the existing Office Manager responsible for HR, overseeing the human resource management function.
Governance
Manage governance processes, including reporting and accountabilities in terms of legal compliance and preparation of documentation for Board and Management Meetings.
Engagement with Board Committees.
Requirements for the role:
Relevant post-graduate degree, other relevant senior qualification.
Experience in HR, Financial Management and Operations.
A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience within a range of non-profit or business disciplines.
A high level of financial acumen and capability, including budgeting and cash flow management.
A track record of successfully facilitating progressive organisational change and development within a growing organisation, will be an advantage.
Demonstrated experience linking the operations of an organisation to support the delivery of the strategy.
Interested in and passionate about the mission of the IEJ.
Excellent computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
Knowledge of accounting software, e.g. Xero.
Strategic and analytical thinker; proactive and performance‐orientated.
Organised, self‐reliant, good problem‐solving, results‐oriented multi‐tasker with superior management skills and judgment.
Flexible and resilient.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with all team members and stakeholders.
