Overview
Econo Foods Lesotho is a local company, with branches in Maseru and Maputsoe, operating in the retail services sector. In particular, the company specializes in sales of red meat, fish, chicken, processed meats, dairy products, spices, and herbs.
General Job Purpose
The purpose of the position is to effectively execute the finance, accounting, administrative, and operational functions of Econo Foods Lesotho in the furtherance of its business, and to execute other functions incidental to and consistent with the furtherance of the business
of Econo Foods, as may be given by the executive and/or group finance manager
Main duties and Responsibilities
Development and implementation of the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with the
corporate strategy.
- Strategically lead and oversee the finance and administration department.
- Financial risk management
- Preparation of financial and management accounts in liaison with headquarters
- Tax compliance and planning.
- Appraisal of projects and other capital expenditure
- Development and maintenance of financial internal controls for sound control environment
- Ensure company compliance with Lesotho company laws
- Facilitate company statutory and non-statutory financial audits
- Manage the company’s working capital at appropriate level
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5years at a management and similar role
- Chartered accountant registered with the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA)
