The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll/Finance person who wants to help people harness their own power to achieve a feminist, just, green transition in the 45 countries where ActionAid works.
This role is responsible for ensuring that the Global Secretariat (GS) payroll processing and related financial transactions; accounting, and general finance processes are carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures. This role has elements of both payroll and finance functions with around 70% dedicated to the payroll function and the remaining 30% to the finance function. This role also contributes to the review of payroll and finance processes with the aim of ensuring transactional excellence.
Who we’re looking for:
With substantial experience in in a similar role preferably in a multi-country setting, you should also have demonstratable experience in Payroll management and related processes, preferably in a decentralized structure. You should also have experience of working in a financial or management accounting environment. You should also have strong commitment to ActionAid’s values and ethos
You should have working knowledge of payroll packages, especially Sage Payroll systems ; working knowledge of finance computer packages preferably including Sun; knowledge of key Data Protection laws such as GBDR and POPIA Act; working knowledge of an NGO reporting and tax legislation, including basic employee-related requirements; working knowledge of payroll, tax, International Financial Reporting Standards ( IFRS) and related legislation and cross functional knowledge of good payroll and finance practices.
