Main purpose / objectives of this role

Providing management and administrative support for all aspects of financial, risk management and non-financial duties to the National Resource Development (NRD) business unit. The focus will be on ensuring accountability, stewardship, coordinating, planning and management of budgeting and risk processes. To provide accurate financial reporting, capacity building, development and implementation of appropriate internal controls, risk management, utilization and safeguarding of financial and non-financial resources in accordance to WV policies and procedures, Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). To administratively support NRD campaigns and events, tracking and monitoring business processes related to cultivation, acquisition and retention of all new and
existing donors.

Main Responsibilities:
Review, analyse & post all NRD transactions including local income, to the relevant journals compliant with the World Vision (WV) Finance Manual, specific donor requirements and WV reporting framework, ensuring timeous and standardised reporting into the National Office Financial Reports Database against all of the NRD financials. Monthly reconciliation on movements of cash between NRD and NO accounts
Support the NRD business unit, including National Office & Ministry, when necessary, with technical NRD accounting issues and analytical reviews (Strategic and  Operational) providing inputs to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and meetings (including minutes and administration
Ensure that internal and external stakeholders/partners are consistently engaged, with respect to outward and inward bound settlement advice and paid timeously in accordance with WV procurement, payment and or staff advance policies and or guidelines
Preparation and management of NRD business unit budgets within strategic and operational planning objectives and the systematic review of approved activities
Support internal and external audit processes and adhoc NRD Administrative related requests from the WV Partnership. Any other duties that the NRD Lead will request from time to time.
Minimum Education:
National Diploma in Accounting.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting will be an added advantage
Technical Skills & Abilities:
High level analytical thinker with a strong focus to see tasks completed on time
Ability to analyse high volumes of data and pay meticulous attention to details and trends
Able to be critical in reviewing documents and giving feedback that is easily understood
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages. Must be intermediate Excel user
Able to work in a cross-cultural environment
Self-starter and motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability in monitoring activities against planning
Experience & Training:
Minimum 5 years general accounting and finance management experience
Strategic and operational finance management experience
Budgeting and reporting experience against bottom line
Managing and monitoring of financial indicators
Day to day journal entries to the various books and financial overview of business unit activities
Driving inbound and outbound financial activities across departments
Managing procurement processes and engaging service providers
3 year’s experience working in a not for profit context
Experience in the use of computerized accounting packages is mandatory
Writing month end, quarterly and or annual reports and presenting information at meetings to high level decision makers.
Training in the use of Customer Relationship Management systems
International NGO experience would be an added advantage
Working knowledge of Sun Systems will be an added advantage
Experience with zero budgeting practices will be an added advantage
Experience determining internal rates of returns for marketing projects/campaigns and their Return on Investment would be an advantage
Managing the financial and risk aspects of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment transactions between NGO’s and For Profits
Social media and or digital channel financial support
Meeting with prospective clients and discussing relevant product options
