The Property Claim Specialist-Field is responsible for investigation, evaluation, coverage verification and resolution of large and complex property losses. Claims may involve the preparation/ review of property estimates, personal property inventories and ALE in settling covered losses as well as require multiple inspections and contacts with customers and contractors. Some claims may require coordination of a physical inspection with other claim handlers and partnering with vendor to facilitate claim resolution. During high volume weather events, may assist or be responsible for resolution of catastrophe claims.
Ideally looking for candidates in Texas or on the West Coast including California, Washington State, Oregon and Arizona.
Responsibilities:
Review, investigate, evaluate and resolve a large and complex property claims that includes verification of coverage and extent of property damage. Partners with customers to establish loss amount through itemization of damages. Key claim handling requirements include the ability to appropriately communicate and follow-up with the customer. May also include coverage assessment, investigation, documentation, estimate preparation/reconciliation and claim resolution. May require negotiating with attorneys, public adjuster and other professionals. Overall claim file and desk management will include but is not limited to gathering documentation, written/verbal communication, estimate preparation and statement taking. Required to to perform responsibilities with compliance with all state regulatory requirements. May handle more complex property claims and help resolve challenging consumer concerns. May be asked to support spikes in workload due to weather events or catastrophes. May be asked to travel to catastrophe location to handle catastrophe claims. Serves as a senior expert/ resource to other claim representatives. Serve as team lead and trainer as needed. High level of technical expertise in property claim handling.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience proficiently handling property claims including large/ complex property claims.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly skilled in Xactimate software Strong organizational skills
- Exceptionally detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy Experience handling large, complex property claim losses
- Strong negotiation skills
- Prior training experience
- Ability to develop and deliver training to less experienced claim handlers
- Must maintain valid insurance license for assigned jurisdictions
