Position: Field Maintenance Engineer (FME)
Location: All regions – Lesotho
Main Purpose of Job
1. Site Maintenance
- Fault finding
- Preventative maintenance
- Interacting and managing contractors on site
- Switch maintenance
2. New Site Build
- New site build process
- RBS upgrades
3. Planning and Optimization
- New site integration
- New and existing site performance monitoring
- New and existing site optimization
4. Monitoring transmission links for performance-related issues
5. Monitoring links relating to optimisation, congestion, and rerouting traffic
6. Assisting with checking of planned microwave links – correct levels and frequencies
7. Checking acceptance documents and CMODs for new links
8. Use U2000 transmission software to assist with faults
9. Database maintenance and updating of records
10. Assist with customer requests regarding transmission-related tasks
11. Ideally assist FMEs remotely with testing of transmission links
Required
- Must have EB/EC/EC1/heavy-duty license
- All EHS Certificates (First Aid, Fire Fighting, HIRA, Climbing/Rope Access)
- Approximately 3–4 years of experience in the telecommunications sector
- Clear vetting and medicals
- N6 in Electrical or Telecommunications or equivalent
