- Background
Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO) is a statutory body registered under Companies Act of 2011 (registration number 70536) to manage electricity generation in Lesotho operating under the Ministry of Natural Resources. The mandate of LEGCO is to ensure that Lesotho is self- sufficient in its power supply, starting with solar generation plant at Ha-Ramarothole in Mafeteng. LEGCO therefore invites applications from a suitably qualified and locally registered or international consultancy company to explore or assess the costed potential of solar power generation storage facilities in Lesotho. The consultant will undertake a study on implementation of solar power storage options in the country. The assignment is to be completed within a period of three months.
- Site Visit and Bid Document Collection
Site visits will be provided on request from 20th October 2023 to 27th October 2023. Tender documents on Hard Copy with complete information can be obtained from the procurement unit of LEGCO from the 17th October 2023 at M2000.00 cash (non-refundable) and to be paid in the accounts section of the Ministry of Natural Resources, 80 Constitution Road, Government Complex, Maseru. A receipt of payment will be issued and is to be submitted to procurement unit at LEGCO Offices situated at House no.251 Honeymoon Park, Maseru West, for tender document collection. Electronic Tender documents will be issued free of charge on request from [email protected]. Tender amounts must be inclusive of 15% VAT and company proposals must have valid tax clearance certificates and traders licences certified at source attached to them as a mandatory requirement.
- Bid Submission and Tender Opening
Closing date for submission of proposals is on the 22nd November 2023 at 12 noon and will be publicly opened at LEGCO Offices at the address shown below, on the same day at 14:30. Proposals must be e-mailed to [email protected] as PDF document. For physical submissions, proposals shall be sent in sealed envelopes and dropped in the Tender Box at LEGCO offices at the address below: Lesotho Electricity Generation Company, House No. 251, Honeymoon Park, Maseru West, MASERU. - Conditions
LESOTHO ELECTRICITY GENERATION COMPANY shall not be held liable for any costs incurred for the preparation of proposals to be submitted. The Ministry of Natural Resources and LEGCO reserve the right to cancel the above mentioned proposal at any time during the procurement process and is under no obligation to select any tender on the basis of price. Late Tenders shall be rejected.
