Fashion, Beauty and Home (FBH) Departmental Manager
Main Purpose
To maximise selling opportunities for the business and manage all costs by providing an exceptional customer experience, driving operational excellence, and leading a motivated team to ensure profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide input into the store’s operating plan
- Ensure sales growth in line with agreed budgets
- Lead and manage store teams to deliver against the operating plan
- Maximise selling opportunities within the parameters of the selling plan
- Manage stock inventory systems
- Ensure shop-keeping disciplines are in place according to checklists
- Manage timeous replenishment of merchandise
- Ensure effective implementation of projects and initiatives
- Manage risk within stores by completing risk audit documentation
- Monitor store performance against scorecards, budgets, and business plans
- Minimise waste and control stock to prevent shrinkage
- Manage employee relations processes in line with Woolworths policies and labour legislation
- Conduct performance and development discussions with the team
- Participate in general store operational duties (e.g. locking and opening of store)
Key Competencies
Qualifications and Technical Knowledge
- Commercial qualification (e.g. Retail, Commerce, Business Management Diploma or equivalent)
- 3 years relevant experience in the retail/service industry as a supervisor
- Numeric ability and computer literacy
