The key purpose of this role is to provide an efficient cost-effective delivery service to all MMB customers ensuring excellent customer service.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensure vehicle is clean before departing brewery on first trip of the day and roadworthy before departing brewery on each trip.
  • Complete accurately vehicle checklist.
  • Check stock loaded on vehicle corresponds to dispatch note or delivery invoices for each trip prior to departure for security gate.
  • BIT’s to be minimized and company standard not to be exceeded. Any exception to be reported to the Distribution Logistics Manager or Depot Manager in writing on return to the plant.
  • Drive vehicle in a responsible and lawful way to maximize fuel usage and minimize tire use and engine damage.
  • Follow laid down route except in exceptional cases when permission must be sought for the deviation.
  • Complete trip sheets accurately.
  • Comply with credit department instructions regarding each customer payment terms. No deviation unless authority obtained.
  • Ensure that all customers sign on the invoice for proof of delivery.
  • Check thoroughly that customers debit notes agree with physical quantities loaded before signing them.
  • Timeous and courteous deliveries to customers.
  • Delivery documentation to be accurately completed and proof of delivery obtained.
  • Empties collected and credited to customer to be correctly recorded. Ensure no missing and broken bottles on customer’s orders credited to customer.
  • If unable to collect all customers’ empties the Distribution Logistics Manager or Depot Manager must be informed of the quantity and reason for non-collection.
  • All uncollected empties must be registered in appropriate form.
  • All customer complaints to be recorded and fed back to the Distribution Manager on return to the plant.
  • Protective clothing to be worn to ensure the health and safety of employees.
  • Supervision of crew members to be carried out in terms of company policies and procedures.

Profile:

  • Minimum education level of Form V (O level)•Supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in both Sesotho and English
  • At least 2 years driving experience of heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Unendorsed Heavy Duty drivers license.
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision.
