Background
The Scott College of Nursing (Scott CON) is a respected institution of higher learning, providing the following accredited programs: Certificate in Nursing Assistant, Diploma in Nursing, and Diploma in Midwifery. These programs have been accredited by the Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC) and the Council on Higher Education (CHE) Lesotho. At the end of each semester, students write examinations and to ensure that the examinations are of quality, each examination paper and the students’ examination scripts are externally moderated.
Role Purpose
Scott CON is looking for qualified and experienced individuals who will serve as external moderators for the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Microbiology & parasitology
1. To provide unbiased evaluation of the student assessment
2. Verify that the student assessment methods are reliable, valid, and feasible and have educational impact
3. Collaborate with the Internal Examiner
4. Moderate the examination paper, memo and examination scripts
5. Write a report detailing observations made, conclusions and recommendations
Educational qualifications and experience
1. Nurse educator with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Education or equivalent. LQF level 8/9/10 degree in Nursing will be an added advantage
2. Should have at least two years’ experience as an internal examiner
3. Should have at least three years teaching experience or clinical instruction at a Nursing Education Institution
4. Registration with the relevant Nursing Council
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
1. Computer literacy
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
3. Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
4. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
