REQUESTS FOR EXPRESION OF INTEREST
LNDC requests Expression of Interest from local export-ready firms.
In response to the Government of Lesotho’s call for diversification of industry under the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP II), LNDC developed an Exporter Development Programme (EDP), a tool used by Investment and Trade Promotion Agencies (ITPAs) to support growth and increase competitiveness of local exporters to participate optimally in regional and global markets such as South Africa and USA etc.
EDP is a national framework that aims to assist local producers/exporters to compete effectively in regional and international markets.
Its specific objectives are:
To develop a pool of export-ready companies;
To ensure that exports grow, new markets and exports are developed;
To ensure that there are effective resources available for exporter development;
To increase global competitiveness of local exporters.
LNDC seeks to develop and support export-ready firms that produce herbs, teas and spices, processed foods, bottled spring water, cosmetics and essential oils (agave aloe, rosehip, lanolin), leather products, sandstone products, electronics and electrical apparatus, and textiles and garments. These should be companies looking for export capacity/enhancing services such as acquisition of relevant industry certifications, as well as e-commerce listings on trade platforms such as Amazon.
The interested companies are requested to send profiles of their companies to LNDC. The profile must include the name of the company and manager, full contact details, a brief description of the business, the products, monthly production capacity, annual turnover, the market destination/target market, and number of employees. Business registration certificate should be attached to the profile.
