Financial Intermediaries
- Introduction
Lesotho Housing and Land Development Corporation (LHLDC) is mandated to increase the supply of shelter and help meet the housing requirements in Lesotho. To this end it aims to engage in various housing and land development programmes which entail land Acquisition & infrastructure development, comprehensive maintenance/refurbishment of existing rental estates and new developments including new rental estates in various forms, e.g. flats, share blocks schemes. Substantial funding will be required for this purpose. With this in mind, the Corporation invites expression of interest (EOI) from different financial intermediaries for funding the outlined programmes.
2. Key Requirements
Interested, registered and resident financial intermediaries should possess and demonstrate the following relevant attributes:
- Expertise and or experience in putting together large programme funding.
- Ability to evaluate suitable funding options from prospective investors that align with the strategic goals of the Corporation.
- Ability to provide guidance and support throughout the funding process, including documentation preparation and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a middleman between the Corporation and potential investors and carry out the advisory roles that shall help fulfil the mandate of the Corporation.
- Identify and engage with potential investors interested in long term investment options.
- Help LHLDC attract investors by offering more attractive financial incentives for longer term sustainability.
3. Eligibility Criteria
EOI shall be evaluated based on the following minimum pre-qualification criteria:
- Demonstrable expertise in sourcing medium to long-term funding for projects/programmes
- Understanding of LHLDC funding needs and the role it entails to fulfil such needs.
- Registered and Licensed with the approved by Central Bank of Lesotho.
- Quality and creativity of proposed approach for mobilizing funding for LHLDC.
4. Submission Process
Interested Financial intermediaries shall submit their detailed proposals, on or before 18th October 2024 at the Email addresses below. Only Shortlisted Financial Intermediaries shall be contacted.
5. Disclaimer
LHLDC reserves the right to accept or reject any EOI and to negotiate the terms of any agreement with the selected fi nancial Intermediaries.
