What is the job about?
As an Export Coordinator you will be responsible for processing shipments while coordinating with the customer service group. Your goal will be to achieve high accuracy through our forwarding systems to ensure high productivity and operational excellence.
Some of the responsibilities are as follows:
- Processing of shipments with great attention to detail and ensure all export documentation are in order.
- Own, maintain and execute shipment for Exports (Air, Sea and Road freight).
- Responsible for managing commercial terms of freight.
- Two-way communication with customers, keeping them informed about the status of their orders at all times.
- Weekly back order reports and open shipments.
- Working closely with Warehouse on Open delivery report and see that shipments leave on time.
- Implement and deploy best practices within the Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) region through continuous improvements and projects.
- Set, agree and achieve KPI targets together with SSA and local teams.
- Continuously improve execution of practices and methods based on performance and key performance indicators.
- Solve issues and act as a consultant for the operational side of Grundfos.
- Be the contact person for local key persons dealing with daily issues, sharing and solving these within the Export of orders and giving feedback to customers.
- Participate in audits/assessments and task force assignments.
- Letters of credit.
- Prepare, participate and contribute to network meetings and workshops to improve delivery performance and order handling.
- Maintain and/or improve process documentation.
What do you need to apply?
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
- Education: Matriculation and/ or equal qualification. Export Management course would be an advantage.
- At least 1-year previous export/shipping work experience.
- SAP experience would be an advantage.
- Full understanding of incoterms, shipping conditions and previous work experience within shipping.
- Understanding of policies and procedures applicable to export control.
- Basic knowledge of export country requirements in terms of documentation, inspections and required information on products offered.
- Ability to think outside of the box and challenging processes to improve the way we do things.
- Possess a great understanding of the relevant systems, export laws and regulations where applicable.
- Ensure delivery performance is upheld together with sales target, lead times and ship on time.
