Description

Closing Date: 25th January 2023

Serving in the executive team and reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent shall be responsible to promote and implement human resources values by strategic planning and management of human resources programs; supporting executive and Line Management to drive employee engagement initiatives, as well as health & safety programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Align the business to drive cost optimization  through implementation of new ways of working in collaboration with Vodacom Group and International best practices
  • Support senior management to plan, design and source organizational and functional structures
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to ensure Vodacom remains the employer of choice for talent
  • Design, direct and manage a company-wide process of organisational development including providing inputs to succession planning and management development initiatives
  • Develop human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends and analyzing  trend results
  • Identify strategic talent needs, risks and gaps; create a plan to develop, buy and/or import talent for the business
  • Participate in the preparation of RemCo pack, attend RemCo meetings as may be required and Implement RemCo decisions
  • Develop and manage systems and processes to align to Vodafone guidelines on Health & safety as well as local legislation on workplace safety 

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent (degree/B. Tech diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, etc,). A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.
  • An MBA or Masters in Human Resources will be highly advantageous
  • At least ten years applicable experience as Human Resources generalist of which at least six years should have been at senior management level, delivering an end-to-end service to a designated customer base as well as proven experience in the management of a Human Resources division 
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others both internal and external to the organisation.
  • The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations
