EXECUTIVE HEAD CHEF

Afriski Mountain Resort, Lesotho’s premier mountain and ski destination, is seeking an experienced, creative, and dynamic Executive Head Chef to lead our culinary operations in a high‑energy hospitality environment. This role requires strong leadership, innovation, and the ability to deliver exceptional dining experiences to both local and international guests.
Job Overview
We are looking for a strategic and innovative Executive Head Chef to oversee all culinary operations across the resort, ensuring excellence in food quality, service delivery, and kitchen management while supporting the resort’s operational and guest experience goals.
Job Responsibilities
You will:
• Lead and manage all kitchen operations across resort outlets
• Develop seasonal and à la carte menus aligned with resort standards
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Control food costs, wastage, and kitchen budgets
• Manage procurement processes and supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards
• Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff
• Maintain a positive and high‑performance kitchen culture
• Work closely with resort management on special events and peak‑season planning
Requirements
• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior kitchen leadership role
• Experience working in a high‑volume hospitality or resort environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proven experience in menu development and food cost control
• Knowledge of international cuisine; experience serving diverse guest profiles is an advantage
• Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, preferably in a similar environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak seasons
• Strong organisational and communication skills
