EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB ADVERT
Care for Basotho Association (CBA) has an opening for a position of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR who will report to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
SUMMARY
CBA is a local, humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization whose mandate is to assist the Lesotho Government of Lesotho in pushing back the frontiers of poverty through various interventions including Natural Resource Management; Economic Empowerment particularly for women and girls; Food security and Livelihoods; and of course, HIV& AIDS prevention, care and support.
JOB PURPOSE
The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of programming, operations and overall office administration. He/she will provide strategic leadership in programme development and delivery, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, asset management, procurement and financial planning and ensure that CBA’s projects make a significant contribution to reducing poverty and social injustice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- To provide leadership in maintaining fundraising plan of CBA and ensure viable funding pipelines;
- Develop funding proposals and projects and ensure viable funding prospects for continuous delivery of service;
- Identify and respond to funding opportunities and fund development practices that support CBS’s strategic direction;
- Ensure that development and implementation of annual work plans including programme goals and measurable outcomes are consistent with CBA Strategic Plan and Partner requirements;
- Oversee implementation and monitoring of Staff Performance Management Development System in the context of strategic objectives;
- Monitor programmes compliance with contractual agreements and grant requirements to ensure the accuracy of reporting and that all deadlines are met;
- Ensure timely reporting and communication with development partners, government and other key actors.
SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- Excellent organizational development and fundraising;
- Excellent networkingskills and ability to manage relationships with Development Partners;
- Strong project management skills managing complex, multi-faceted projects resulting in measurable successes and programming growth;
- Ability to develop new ways to improve operations of the programme and create new opportunities;
- Excellent and demonstrated communication skills both written and oral;
- Good understanding of Finance and Procurement Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field;
- Five (5) year experience in effective strategic and programming management;
- Experience in programme development, Resource Mobilization and Human Resource Management.
- Experience working within the NGOs/CBO, iNGO sector
