The Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP) is a non-governmental organization committed to promoting and protecting the rights of visually impaired persons in Lesotho. Position Overview
LNLVIP is seeking a highly motivated, visionary, and experienced Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and drive the mission and growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic direction and leadership for LNLVIP’s programs, operations, and advocacy initiatives
- Lead the development and implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and long-term strategies
- Oversee financial management, including budget preparation, resource mobilization, and fundraising
- Represent LNLVIP at national, regional, and international levels, strengthening partnerships and networks
- Champion the rights, inclusion, and participation of visually impaired persons in all spheres of life
- Manage and mentor staff, ensuring a motivated, high-performing, and inclusive team
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, governance, and donor requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Visual Impairment: This position is reserved for a visually impaired person
- Education: At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Disability Studies, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience, preferably in a leadership or management role within a non-profit or disability-focused institution
- Proven experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, human resources management, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience working with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in a strategic position is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of disability rights, inclusive development principles, and advocacy
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
- Ability to inspire, lead, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Terms of Employment
- Type: Fixed-term contract
- Renewal: Subject to performance and funding availability
