Verra manages a portfolio of standards, including the:

  • Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) — the world’s leading carbon crediting program, with more than 1700 registered projects in 80 countries, and accounting for two-thirds of all voluntary carbon market transaction volume.
  • Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) — a flexible framework for assessing and reporting on the sustainable development benefits of project-based activities.
  • Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards — to identify projects that simultaneously address climate change, support local communities, and conserve biodiversity.
  • Plastic Waste Reduction Program — to enable robust impact assessment of new or scaled-up waste recovery and recycling projects around the globe.

Verra is looking for an Executive Assistant to support its Policy and Markets team.

Specific functions you will be responsible for…

  • Supporting the administrative functioning of Policy and Markets team leadership, including by:
    • Scheduling meetings with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Administering the team’s customer relationship management (CRM) system by entering and managing records of meetings and key contacts;
    • Administering the team’s document management system by filing documents and helping to maintain, organize, and update file systems;
    • Filing expense reports;
  • Supporting the Chief Policy and Markets Officer, including by:
    • Tracking the status of tasks in order to facilitate the assessment of progress;
    • Preparing and reviewing draft documents such as non-disclosure agreements and consultancy contracts;
    • Supporting budget tracking and reporting;
  • Supporting event preparation and follow-up;
  • Conducting other administrative duties as assigned.

You bring with you …

  • Relevant education and at least two years of relevant work experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English a must;

  • The ability to coordinate activities among numerous individuals;
  • A well-developed capacity for exercising discretion and judgment in the conduct of your duties;

  • An ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Demonstrated skill using various software platforms, including Microsoft (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Slides);
  • An interest in sustainability, corporate responsibility, carbon markets, and/or climate change.

Compensation at Verra

To help us attract and retain top talent, we pay employees competitively to the market. In return, we expect each employee to, at a minimum:

For this position, the starting salary range is $40,782 – $46,666 USD.

We will recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package, which also includes:

  • Health, vision and dental care, and life insurance;
  • Verra contributions to each employee’s retirement plan;
  • Verra contributions as required by national labor laws in countries where staff are located;
