We have an excellent opportunity for an Executive Assistant to work in our Economic Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate (EYSD). The Directorate is responsible for the Secretariat’s programmes on global, regional, and national aspects of sustainable development with respect to contemporary and emerging economic, environmental and social issues. The Directorate is involved in helping to identify solutions to economic and debt management programmes, youth, gender and social policy development challenges, and climate change issues, encountered by Commonwealth member countries, through evidence-based research, analyses and diagnostic work toward promotion of policy oriented and practical solutions.

The Executive Assistant provides secretarial as well as programme services, working directly with the Senior Director, EYSD. The post holder will be responsible for preparing internal and external correspondence; facilitate telephone contact; manage the diary; arrange travel and transportation; organise official social and representational events; maintain records; support with budget preparations; support preparation of presentations as required; and, may be called upon to assist in some stand-alone and ongoing project work. 

To be considered you will need to have a degree in any field or an equivalent technical, professional or academic qualification in administration or a related subject. You will need to have the ability to review and analyse internal and external correspondence and papers and be able to organise conflicting demands of a busy multi-disciplinary office. You will also have at least three years of experience of a similar type of work, working for a senior manager or executive.
