What will you do?

In this position you will join our local Built Environment unit to work on exciting projects that will challenge and enhance your current skillset. You will join our highly successful ESD (Environment Sustainability Design) team, to work on some of the industry’s leading projects. The team’s primary role is to push the boundaries of innovation, incorporate sustainability in designs, and obtain official accreditation’s such as Green Star or LEED (Leadership and Environmental Energy Design).

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key activities you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Manage and execute assigned activities or projects successfully in accordance with established standards, time-frames, budgets and by applying technical excellence;
  • Contribute to analysis of client needs and ensure client satisfaction;
  • Acquire specialist knowledge in line with global sustainability trends to ensure technical excellence;
  • Skills development in self and others and transfer of specialist knowledge;
  • Provision of relevant specialist advisory skills;
  • Positive attitude to team building and sound working relationships.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imaging engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.

  • Demonstrate keen interest in sustainable development;
  • A minimum degree in relevant Sciences, Engineering, Environmental, Property or Architectural field , with at least 2 – 6 years’ experience as an Environmentally Sustainable Design Consultant Understanding of the South African construction industry;
  • Experience in sustainable development – construction projects, buildings, precincts;
  • Previous exposure to rating tools, including but not limited to Green Star, LEED, etc.;
  • Previous exposure to Building Energy and Thermal Modelling would be advantageous;
  • Highly articulated verbal and written communication skills including report writing and communicating technical concepts;
  • Attention to detail.
