Subject: Management and Operationalisation of Lesotho National Convention Centre (LNCC) Kitchen and Restaurant Facility
Background
As part of tourism development in Lesotho, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) facilitates the development of tourism destination areas to ensure quality and memorable experiences for visitors.
Maseru CBD is a key tourism destination, attracting business tourists. In recent years, LTDC has observed growth in the MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) in Maseru and surrounding areas such as Thaba-Bosiu Fortress, Matsieng, and Morija. These events significantly contribute to the local hospitality and tourism sector, highlighting Lesotho’s potential to host more international events.
Call for Expressions of Interest
LTDC invites reputable service providers with experience in the hospitality sector to submit expressions of interest to operate and manage the LNCC kitchen and restaurant on a short-term contract (4 years).
Scope of Work
The successful bidder will be expected to:
- Serve all required meals during conferences and meetings at LNCC
- Ensure full operation of the restaurant within LNCC at all times
- Market and promote the facility to ensure year-round full capacity
Submission Requirements
Interested bidders must submit the following documents:
- Letter of Expression of Interest
- Company profile
- Certificate of Incorporation and Company Extract
- Proof of experience in operating and managing similar facilities
- Proposed business model
- Proof of financial capacity to support the proposed concept
Note: The bidder shall finance, operate, and manage the facility using own funds.
Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on the above requirements.
Only shortlisted bidders will be issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) document at a fee.
Shortlisting will also consider the best proposed business model (profitable and sustainable).
