EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR APPOINTMENT OF EXTERNAL AUDITOR
BACK GROUND
Care for Basotho (CBA) is an autonomous association established in 2014 by the Basotho who were former employees of Care International Lesotho, for further pursue the mission of serving the vulnerable and marginalized individual and households to build their capacity to achieve self-reliance through economic empowerment, poverty reduction provision of health services and social justice in response to community needs.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
CBA seeks to engage an experienced Local Chartered Accountancy firm to audit its financial statements for the year ending March 2024. The firm is expected to form an independent opinion about the reliability of accounts and truth and fairness of financial state of affairs of Care for Basotho.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Auditor is to execute the audit responsibility in accordance with international standards in Auditing (ISAs). The Auditor is expected to audit the full set of financial statements comprising the Income Statement and other comprehensive income, Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Changes in Equity, Statement of Cash flow and Notes to the Financial Statements in line with the organisational accounting policies and also evaluate the appropriateness of the accounting policies adopted. Report on audit findings on a timely manner.
DURATION
A year contract and upon satisfactory performance with provision of extension up to five years.
DELIVERABLES & OUTPUTS
- Upon engagement, the firm is expected to provide a detailed written work plan
- Conduct enquiries where applicable
- Executive audit assignment
- Produce Management letter
- Produce auditors’ report
- Report and presentation of the report to the CBA board on the agreed timelines and deliverables
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Chartered Accountancy Firms that meet the following criteria may apply:
- Minimum ten years of experience
- Should have audit experience of Government and Non-Governmental Organizations NGOs
- A firm should be a member of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA)
- Mechanisms should be in place for the international standards and shall have a satisfactory rating.
- Should attach references of the three organizations they previously served.
- Should be a legally registered local audit firm
- Should provide company profile with up to date company registration documents
