Overview
Seeking a highly experienced expert for a potential upcoming opportunity to support work in environmental governance, MEA implementation, and strategic policy development.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Policy, Environmental Law, Environmental Economics, or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in MEA implementation, environmental governance, strategy development & resource mobilization
- Strong knowledge of national, regional and international environmental legislation, including chemicals and waste conventions
- Familiarity with environmental science, waste management, and chemical safety protocols
- Proven ability to develop strategies, policy frameworks and implementation plans; analyse governance systems and institutional arrangements; and consolidate findings into clear strategic recommendations
- Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans with timelines and indicators
- Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills
- Excellent project management and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent written and spoken English
