• ENVIRONMENT OFFICER
Maseru
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The incumbent will be responsible to the Risk Manager. The position is in Maseru, LEC Head Office.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Environmental Management or Environmental Sciences.
• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management or Environmental Sciences will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in environmental field
• In-depth knowledge of Environmental disciplines including Environmental Management Systems (e.g. ISO 14000) and Environmental Auditing procedures and techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of national legislation, industry’s best practices and international standards pertaining to Environmental Management.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Communication, Analytical. Reporting, Presentation and Computer skills
• Possession of a valid driver’s licence is a critical requirement of the job
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
• Maintaining compliance to environment regulations by identifying and analysing problems.
• Developing and updating Company’s Environmental Management Framework.
• Conducting Environmental Impact Studies for Electrification Projects.
• Developing and monitoring Implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP`S)
• Implementing Waste Streams and PCBs Management Programmes.
• Coordinating and Conducting Environmental Education and Promotion.
• Coordinating Environmental Incident Investigations and Compile Environmental Statistics.
• Conducting Internal Environmental Management Audits.
• Coordinating Company’s Environmental Risks Management.
