16 ENUMERATOR OPEN VACANCIES AT MCA LESOTHO -TDL
Millennium Challenge Account Lesotho II (MCA-Lesotho II), under the Market Driven Irrigated Horticulture (MDIH) project, has contracted the Resettlement and Livelihood Services (RLS) consultant Translantic Development Limited (TDL) to provide resettlement and livelihood restoration services for four irrigation schemes in Leribe and Phamong.
The primary objectives are to identify and manage all the impacts of land use changes, prepare and implement Resettlement and Livelihood Plans (RLPs) in compliance with national legal and the MCALesotho II Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) requirements, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Environmental Guidelines and International Finance Corporation (IFC) PS5, ensuring fair and transparent resettlement compensation and livelihood restoration for Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
As part of this assignment, the Consultant (TDL) has an employment opening for 16 qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
•Geographic Information System (GIS) and Asset Inventory Enumerators
•Census Enumerators
The shortlisted candidates will be required to collect GIS, asset inventory, and socioeconomic data in the Manka, Tsoili-Tsoili, and Likhakeng project areas within the Leribe District.
Job Description
•Conduct interviews with households, enterprises, or establishments to collect data and verify documents (e.g. title deeds).
•Participate in relevant training sessions, ensuring a proper understanding of data collection methods.
•Use of handheld devices to record survey responses.
•Ensure that all questionnaires are fully completed and accurate and submit data to the server on a daily basis.
•Document field experiences and scenarios and sharing with supervisors for review.
•Assist with data cleaning and validation as needed
•Attend debriefing meetings at the end of each data collection activity to discuss findings and challenges
Education Requirements
First Degree in Social Sciences, Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
Key Skills and Experience
•At least 2 years of work experience in conducting field surveys, especially in demographic, socioeconomic, and geographic data.
•Experience using digital data collection platforms like SurveyCTO, KoBotool, CSPro, or similar ODK platforms.
•Basic knowledge of data collection or GIS will be an added advantage.
•Entry-level to middle-level positions, including Assistant data collector or Field Survey Enumerator.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•Good communication skills, and fluency in written and spoken English and Sesotho.
