Free State Rainbow Seeds (FSRS) is an organisation established in 2012 by members drawn from the LGBTIAQ+ community who were part of the Most at Risk Programme (MARPS) under ICAP Columbia University. Inspired by the mantra of nothing for us without us they started an organisation that focusses on the rights and sexual health of the LGBTIAQ+ community including men who have sex with men (MSM). With capacity building, the organisation was able to put in place organisational systems that included a sound governance system to enable it to respond to call for proposals. Upon realising that key populations especially, men who have sex with other men were underserved and “hard to reach” when it came to HIV prevention, FSRS applied and was awarded a grant in 2014 under the Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria, administered by Right to Care, focusing on combination prevention, that is an integrated response to HIV that included behavioural, biomedical and structural interventions.
Conducts and Supervise HTS. Works on weekends when there’s an event. Issues referrals to clients and collects them. Collects one on one and consent forms from the POW on daily basis. Compiles HTS stats for DOH. Field visits and supervises HTSs. Verifies HTS papers, counts, and report monthly. Educate MSM on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) benefits. Distribute IEC materials that talks about GBV, HIV and PrEP services. Collaborate with Data Captures and PHC re-engineering team leader to trace lost to follow up MSM in the adherence support groups.
Minimum requirements:
Matric certificate, Enrolled Nurse certificate, SANC valid Certificate,
Must be able to work with key population (LGBTI+Q/MSM).
