Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres which is situated 160km north west of Kimberley and 109km south of
Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Finsch Diamond Mine will be offering bursaries for studies at a tertiary institution for 2020 in the following fields:
Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical)
Mining
Metallurgy
Geology
Requirements:
Applicant must be a South African citizen
Applicant must be registered and been accepted to a University or University of Technology to study in one of the above fields
Applicant must have achieved a minimum of 6 for mathematics and science for mid-year examinations (not maths literacy)
Grade 12 results.
Applicants must have an Admission point score (APS) of 35 for Engineering studies and an APS of 31 for other directions of
study.
Applicants who are currently studying at University or University of Technology should demonstrate good results
Please attach your results with your application and acceptance correspondence from the University
Value of the Bursary includes:
Full tuition fees
Full residence and meals (or equivalent allowance)
Annual cash and travel allowance
Compulsory practical vacation employment during December and January at various Petra Diamonds Operations
Bursary Conditions:
The Bursary carries a contractual obligation. (On completion of the internship period.) Bursars will be required to remain in the
employment of the Company if the Company so wishes, for a period as stipulated in the bursary agreement.
PLEASE NOTE: Preference will be given to children of permanent employees, children on Company scholarship
programmes as well as individuals from local communities who are citizens of the Republic of South Africa. Candidates
must reside in the labour sending area of Kgatelopele. We will require proof of residence.
