Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) is the regulatory body for the communications sector in Lesotho. LCA invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Engineer – Spectrum Monitoring.
JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent will be responsible for engineering tasks associated with the monitoring of radio frequency utilization for communications and other uses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be responsible to:
– Monitor general use of radio frequencies.
– Operate and maintain monitoring equipment.
– Investigate harmful radio frequency interferences
– Address illegal use of radio frequencies.
– Carry out network’s quality of service measurements.
– Carry out Electromagnetic Field (EMF) measurements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering and a minimum of two years’ experience in ICT industry will an added advantage.
COMPETENCIES
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Sesotho.
- Good report writing and research skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Highly disciplined with demonstrated focus on results.
- Code B driver’s license with more than four years.
- Ability to use telecommunications test equipment.
- Ability to deliver presentations.
- Hardworking and ability to meet stringent deadlines.
REMUNERATION
LCA offers an attractive market-related remuneration package commensurate with experience for this position.
