Reporting to the Radio Access Networks Manager, the role of the incumbent is to ensure proper running of Vodacom Lesotho Base Station Subsystems (BSS) and associated transmission, power and alarm monitoring in compliance with company standards and policies.
Job Responsibility
- Planning and developing applications for improved remote management systems
- Automation, gathering all recurring alarms and development of robots for auto clearing
- Planning of the power upgrade based on future and current fit for growth requirements, organizational goals, and technology strategy to meet KPI targets.
- Dimensioning of the Vodacom energy systems based on current requirements and forecasted future trends.
- Analyse power alarms history and develop robots to clear all recurring power alarm.
- Implementation and digitizing power projects in accordance with specified plans and within agreed timelines.
- Support of EBU and Transmission initiatives on sites as well as guidance for their nodes’ power resilience.
- Control faults handling in BSS and Transmission network and manage escalation thereof.
- Undertake capacity upgrades on BSS, Transmission and Power systems
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Telecommunication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years in telecommunications is desirable
