Reporting to Chief Technology Officer, the role of the Energy Lead shall be to localise the Vodacom Group energy strategy and Vodafone Energy Management Policy within the Lesotho market. The incumbent shall also be the subject matter expert for energy management in the local market, developing policies and procedures and driving execution of local energy management activities with all stakeholders.
- Develops and localises the local market GHG reduction strategy, targets and roadmap aligned with overarching Vodacom Group and Vodafone Group objectives, targets.
- Appointed local market representative and subject matter expert for energy management and associated greenhouse gas emissions (sustainability). Leads local market energy steering committee and forums for continuous improvement and best practice energy management implementation in the market (i.e. ISO 50001, Group Energy Policy compliance, local governance, Technology Efficiency Programme, training etc.).
- Derives strategies to improve and implement energy reporting and monitoring to allow for tracking against internal and external energy and sustainability targets & projects.
- Subject matter expert on energy and greenhouse gas emissions to the local market c-level. Drives energy awareness and a culture of sustainability in the market.
- Provides local coordination to support Group Technology: Energy Performance and SCM to implement energy reduction projects, decarbonisation projects and continuous improvement projects in the local market. Ensures alignment to overarching Vodacom Group objectives and initiatives, e.g. benchmark energy performance and decarbonisation of the operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years’ relevant experience in energy management, sustainable/green energy solutions, energy management and ISO50 001 requirements.
- Stakeholder management across an organisation,
- Knowledge of the energy regulatory framework in the specific market.
