1. Job Summary

The incumbent shall be responsible for being a link between economic strengthening and prevention of new HIV/TB infections among AGYW.

2. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Economic Strengthening Coordinator, the Empowerment Worker is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Locate, assess and enroll the program beneficiaries into the program;

• Conduct referral to other economic strengthening opportunities;

• Follow up the referrals and linkages to other components of the core package of services;

• Facilitate savings led approaches to micro finance sessions in communities;

• Draw up and timeously submit accurate monthly reports;

• Follow up on the mentoring support provided to the young women in entrepreneurship support;

• Use approved tools for household assessment and determining vulnerability status;

• Conducting follow ups with AGYW who have been referred to other package of services such as SBCC, biomedical and human rights interventions;

• Mobilize AGYW in the communities, register them and link them to the services based on their needs;

• Link the AGYW they identified with the Project’s Social Worker;

3. Job Requirements.

• Diploma Business Management, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship;

• 1 year experience as an empowerment and working with children, adolescents and young people;

• Adherence and knowledge of health, child protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and education issues;

• Excellent record of working children and young people. No past allegations of SEA and child abuse;

• Ability to function with mature judgement, tact and diplomacy ensuring that Sentebale Policies and procedures are consistently complied with at all times;

• Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional evenings and weekends as may be necessary;

• Ability and flexibility to travel as needed including overnight stays;

• Ability to sustain excellent relationships with external partners and stakeholders;
