EMPLOYEE BENEFITS AND INVESTMENT CONSULTANT AT MINET

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As an Employee Benefits Consultant, your primary role is to provide a full range of Employee Benefits services to Corporate Clients. Apply your knowledge of best practices to provide Investment Consulting Services to Corporate Clients. This includes, but is not limited to, Investment Policy Development, Strategic Asset Allocation, Performance Measurement and Reporting, Market and Economic Updates, Portfolio Construction and Investment Strategy Formulation, all aimed at providing value-for-money investment outcomes designed to improve financial security for members and pensioners. The position will report to Employee Benefits Manager with duty station in Maseru and requiring extensive travelling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep abreast of regulatory and economic environment as it impacts client’s portfolios.
  • Keen understanding of the asset manager landscape locally and internationally.
  • Comfortable presenting to institutional clients including Board of Trustees and Senior Executives.
  • Actively participate in team discussions and investment decision making.
  • Run quantitative and qualitative analysis on client’s portfolios and assess areas for improvement.
  • Member education on services and products available.
  • Grow accounts organically.
  • Ensure timely premium settlement, receipting and allocation for the accounts within your management.
  • Deal with compliance issues for Boards of Trustees, Management Committees and HR offices in line with their Employee Benefits product suite.
  • Provide professional advice to clients ensuring that they are fully aware of the ramifications of any relevant provisions of the Pension Fund Act, Insurance Act, relevant regulations and/or Industry developments.
  • Develop mechanisms of customer engagement and feedback.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Investment Products and Asset Classes and wider Investment Services Industry and Processes will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Knowledge and use of financial markets platforms such as Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, MoneyWeb is highly advantageous.
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of immersive experience of the investment environment or related financial services sector.
  • A University Degree in Investment Management, Finance, or Economics.
  • CFA charter will be highly advantageous or a firm commitment to undergo the program.
  • Affiliation with any recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience in the professional and/or financial services sector with extensive experience in Investment Consulting will be an added advantage.
  • Sales and business development drive and capability, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Excellent networking and relationship management skills.
  • Passionate about financial markets and investments.
  • Well-developed and proven communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiation is essential.
  • Minimum 2 years driving experience
