Electrician (10 Positions)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned positions. The positions are tenable in the Transmission and Distribution Department.
Applicants may be required to work at any LEC Depot throughout the country.
The incumbents will be responsible to their respective Team Leaders.
Qualifications, Experience & Other Requirements
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an electrical‑related environment
• BSc Electrical Engineering or BTech Electrical Engineering (added advantage)
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of LV distribution systems
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Thorough knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards
• Valid Driver’s License (essential)
Key Performance Areas
Testing Installations
• Test domestic and light commercial electrical installations for compliance with approved wiring standards
• Conduct safety and functionality tests prior to energization
• Issue electrical test certificates
Network Operations
• Perform switching operations on the network as per authorized procedures
• Conduct safety tests prior to commencement of any work
Network Maintenance
• Carry out fault finding, fault analysis, and rectification on the network and associated equipment
• Perform cable jointing and termination in accordance with standards
• Install and commission transformers and other distribution equipment
• Maintain overhead lines and underground systems; carry out system improvements
• Conduct routine network inspections and document defects for corrective action
• Maintain substation equipment
• Carry out customer disconnections and issue disconnection notices in accordance with company policy
