Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned positions. The positions are tenable in the Transmission and Distribution Department. The position is based at LEC Polihali Site. The incumbents will be responsible to the Area Manager Mokhotlong.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Certificate in Electrical
• 2 year’s relevant experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Among others, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following duties:
• Testing of installations (domestic & light commercial customers) for compliance with wiring standards and regulations.
• Issue out domestic and commercial wiring test certificates.
• Carry out switching on electrical network as per authorization.
• Carries out fault finding, faults analysis and rectification including meter faults.
• Carry out cable joints and terminations.
• Installs transformers and other relevant equipment.
• Maintains lines and performs system improvements.
• Carries out network inspections and documents defects for rectification.
• Isolates and apply line/portable earths before work commencement.
• Maintains substation equipment e.g. transformers circuit breakers batteries etc.
• Conducts proper use of testing equipment.
• Carries out disconnections and issues disconnection letters
• Carry out safety tests and issue/accept permit to work.
• Explain scope of works to workforce.
• Attends to planned works and emergencies beyond normal working hours including standby duties.
• Liaise with public during implementation of works
