ELECTRICIAN (Grade 11)
Sappi Ngodwana Mill requires a ELECTRICIAN to provide electrical services with a specific responsibility regarding installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.
This role reports into the Maintenance Support/ Superintendent
The main responsibilities of this job are:
- Install, tests, connects, commissions, maintains and modifies electrical equipment, wiring and control systems
- Coordinate with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently
- Ensure optimum plant availability by efficient diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment
- Inspect electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
- Inspect and diagnose AC and DC motors in running and stopped status
- Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information
- Required to work standby and overtime as required
- Knowledge sharing within and across teams
- Take out work permit according to Sappi policy and assist production personnel with isolation process where required
- Understands the SHEQ requirements of the Section
- Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all time
The ideal candidate should have:
- Grade 12 or N2 Engineering
- N3 will be prefered
- Recognised Trade Test – Electrical
- 2 – 5 years Post Apprentice Experience – focus on electrical Fualt Finding and Plant Maintenance
- Valid Driving Licence
