Job Summary

The Electrician will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across all PIH-supported facilities.

The role ensures continuous and reliable electrical services, minimizing downtime due to power failures and maintaining compliance with safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, appliances, and power sources at all PIH facilities.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot faults, hazards, and system failures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Test electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment to assess performance and detect issues.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure, including repairing or replacing faulty wiring and fixtures.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements, including equipment upgrades and replacements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed electrical maintenance reports for all facilities.
  • Install new electrical appliances and systems to support facility operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and the National Electrical Code.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to support facility operations and infrastructure projects.
  • Travel frequently to remote mountain facilities for inspection, maintenance, and emergency repairs.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 2 years of proven work experience as a technician in an industrial or facility setting.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and compliance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote locations, including mountain facilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English and Sesotho.
