ROLE PURPOSE
The EHOD: BIT responsibility is planning, implementing, managing and overseeing the use of Information Technology (IT) and is directly responsible for the alignment of information technology and business needs. The candidate in this role is expected to devise the company’s IT strategy and ensure that all systems necessary to support business operations and objectives are in place. The role involves relationships and transparency, collaboration and business value.
The candidate must have a solid IT background and consistently keep up-to-date with advancements of the field. With the evolution of technology and businesses, the role of the EHOD: BIT has also evolved encompassing market research with artificial intelligence, service analysis, data security, internet of things and digital disruption being at the forefront as an influencer of consumer products. It is the role of the EHOD: BIT to create business value through technology as well as strategically plan the growth objectives of the business.
The goal is to ensure that information technology adds the maximum value to the company so as to facilitate the success of the business outcomes. To be successful, the candidate will be highly-analytical, professional, collaborative, and possess excellent organizational skills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic business leadership, tasked with driving change and transformation within their organisation rather than solely taking charge of IT operations.
Set objectives and strategies for the IT department.
Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic business outcomes
IT Governance and Information Security.
Proficient at managing people and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
IT KPIs performance management to ensure “Always On” products and service.
COMPETENCIES
Business Enterprise Knowledge
Good understanding of modern databases, architectures and information system technologies.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
Strong analysis, research, investigation and evaluation skills, with a structured approach to problem solving
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/BA in computer science, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred
