The Tomorrow Trust is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005, which supports orphaned and vulnerable children throughout their educational journey.  We provide education and holistic support. Our focus is on academics and life skills, thereby empowering each individual to reach their full potential as self-sustaining and proactive members of society.Tomorrow Trust offers supplementary support for Gr R – Gr 12 learners during the holiday period as well as on Saturdays in order to supplement, build, support and correct the learning they receive at their home school.Tomorrow Trust post-secondary students are offered full bursaries to attend university or college, we cover costs for tuition, textbooks, accommodation, feed and transport.  Psycho-social and academic support is provided to all students to ensure they complete their qualifications and are ready for the working environment when they graduate.Tomorrow Trust is working with partners to rapidly deploy, test and iterate teacher support resources available through the Teacher Connect WhatsApp line and other digital resources.

Tomorrow Trust seeks to appoint Education Consultant to be based in Johannesburg.

Employment Type:Fixed Term Contract

Responsibilities:
Review and map existing Robotics, Coding, Tinkering/Making (RCMT) resources for South African learners 0-12 available (open access, creative commons) and evidence-based,
Translate available resources onto TeacherConnect, DBE WhatsApp based portal for teachers, including new DBE robotics and coding curriculum,
Develop framework linking RCMT learning process to 21st-century skills,
Identify potential zero-rated sites in which to store library of resources,
Develop a communication plan to increase teacher uptake and engagement with RMCT materials; and,
Develop strategy for building and linking teachers into active communities of practice for ongoing teacher support around RCMT.
Coordinate with E3 and DBE partners, joining meetings and presenting updates as needed
Advise on Tomorrow Trust’s Holistic Education Model.

Requirements:
Analytical and adept at decision-making

Experience with RCMT programming in schools in South Africa
Experience designing and developing education programs in South Africa
Experience working with teachers and school to support education outcomes for learners  Oriented toward service
Good at planning and organizing
Empathetic and sociable: Able to offer solutions and connect with students, teachers, and school officials
Skilled in identifying problems and brainstorming potential solutions
Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with other team members
Able to meet aggressive deadlines
Interested in travelling and working in a diverse range of environments
Qualified with a degree in curriculum and instruction or education leadership
